First Blog Post - Introduction

   Hello

    My name is Taggart Burkhart. I’ve lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, for the past eight years.  I really enjoy spending time outdoors, especially camping and fishing, which have always been big family activities.  I often go on these trips with my dad and brothers, and it’s one of the ways we bond.   I have three siblings, an older sister and two younger brothers.  Sports are another big part of my life.  I enjoy playing them much more than watching them, and basketball is my favorite.  My dad, who’s really good at it, taught me a lot over the years, and playing with him has always been something special for me.  My younger brother also plays basketball, and we even got to play together during my senior year.  That experience was incredibly meaningful to me, and it’s something I’ll always remember.  

I really enjoy art. I would say I have a good relationship with art. I've always loved drawing and painting.  But I would say the creative outlet I enjoy the most is photography, mainly film photography. My mom liked taking pictures when I was growing up and it inspired me to start doing it.  I love photography. I've been doing it for almost three years now.  I took a film photography class as well which was really cool and really opened my mind creatively to what's possible with photography.  I really like photo books. I recently got the book Accidentally Wes Anderson, the Book.  Wes Anderson is a director and screenwriter he has directed a lot of great films like Fantastic Mr. Fox and Asteroid City.  but i really like his photography style, he uses saturated color and symmetry which i like.
